This eighth edition of the TOKAS Project marks a special milestone: the 15th anniversary of cultural exchange between TOKAS and Atelier Mondial in Basel, Switzerland. The exhibition brings together three artist groups who have previously participated in the exchange program, including Monica Studer and Christoph van den Berg alongside Leonardo Bürgi Tenorio and Nakashima Rika.
The works on view examine how human perception and existence are shaped through continuous interactions with surroundings, technology, and nature. By questioning rigid distinctions between humans, animals, nature, and machines, the participating artists investigate shifting boundaries in modern society. Visitors will encounter works engaging with digital media, biological cycles involving fungi and fermentation, and rituals of mortality, all designed to highlight the fluidity of conscious experience.
