Exploring Twisted Conceptual Pop in Contemporary Art
Curated by Marjolaine Lévy, the exhibition takes its name from Stefan Brüggemann’s ongoing project Show Titles, an expansive, iconoclastic list of conceptual titles available for public use. Brüggemann initiated this project in 2000, establishing a framework where participants utilize capitalized Arial Black typography and credit the title list.
Positioned at the intersection of Dadaism, conceptual art, and pop aesthetics, Super Conceptual Pop examines a playful, humorous approach to contemporary creation. The exhibition highlights works that lean into nihilistic wit while engaging with amusement, consumer culture, and merchandise. Alongside Walter Swennen, the group presentation features an international roster of creators, including Pierre Bismuth, Stefan Brüggemann, Delphine Coindet, Martin Creed, François Curlet, Camila Oliveira Fairclough, Cristina Garrido, Bertrand Lavier, Leo Luccioni, Josep Maynou, Dan McCarthy, Jonathan Monk, Franck Scurti, Yann Sérandour, Elsa Werth, Léon Wuidar, and Yue Yuan.
