Exploring the Artistic Legacy at Espacio Marzana
The exhibition brings attention to an artistic journey that began in Pamplona under the guidance of painters Javier Ciga and Miguel Pérez Torres. During the 1940s, Goicoechea relocated to Madrid to study alongside Eduardo Chicharro y Agüera, dividing her time between formal workshop painting, working as a copyist at the Museo del Prado, and sketching at the Círculo de Bellas Artes.
Following her return to Pamplona in 1952 and subsequent marriage, she stepped away from professional artistic circuits while maintaining her creative output and dedication to painting throughout her life. Often described as a hidden painter of her era whose work was primarily appreciated by family and close circles, she dedicated subsequent decades to capturing still lifes, florals, and portraits.
This current presentation at the gallery follows the recent acquisition of a selection of Goicoechea's pieces by the Museo de Navarra.
