Cartoonmuseum Basel Hosts the First-Ever 24-Hour Comics Drawing Marathon in Basel
The Comic Crew Basel is bringing the intense "24 Hours Comics" challenge to Basel for the first time. Realized in cooperation with the Cartoonmuseum Basel and the Alte Kaserne Winterthur, with financial support from the Christoph Merian Stiftung (CMS), this unique drawing marathon invites illustrators to create an entire 24-page comic within a single day.
What to Expect at the 24-Hour Comics Event
Scheduled to take place in September in the CMS hall building, participating comic creators will dive straight into an uninterrupted creative sprint. The resulting works will later be exhibited in the library of the Cartoonmuseum Basel as well as at the Alte Kaserne Winterthur.
The event kicks off with artist arrivals, followed by an exclusive guided tour of the museum led by director and curator Anette Gehrig. Participants then embark on their round-the-clock drawing journey, supported by scheduled meal breaks before concluding the following afternoon.
