Creative Summer Workshops for Children at Cartoonmuseum Basel
Cartoonmuseum Basel invites young art enthusiasts to take part in a hands-on creative program this season. Inspired by the narrative worlds of Emil Ferris, where imaginative characters and everyday life seamlessly intertwine, the institution is hosting a series of afternoon workshops titled "If I Were a Monster…".
Designed for participants aged 8 and older, these sessions offer a playful environment to explore storytelling through drawing and craft.
Monster-Themed Mask Making and Filming for Young Creators
Drawing on characters that are vulnerable, courageous, or simply misunderstood, attendees will craft their own original monster masks. The sessions encourage participants to give their creations unique traits, abilities, and backstories.
The experience goes beyond traditional crafting. Children will experiment with how their characters move, culminating in a collaborative film shoot where all the newly minted monsters make their grand appearance together.
Practical Visitor Information and Dates
The workshops take place on selected Wednesday afternoons from 14:00 to 17:00, with sessions scheduled for July 8, July 15, July 22, and August 5.
Participation is available on a single-session basis or as a four-afternoon package. Advance requests can be submitted directly through the official Cartoonmuseum Basel website.
