Exploring You Can Break a Rock With an Egg at Kunsthaus Baselland
For its ninth consecutive presentation, Kunsthaus Baselland welcomes the graduation exhibition of the bachelor and master students from the Institute Art Gender Nature HGK Basel FHNW. Entitled You Can Break a Rock With an Egg, the showcase brings together fresh works, installations, and performances by over fifty emerging artists. This year holds special significance, marking the first time the graduation showcase takes place at the institution's new location within the Dreispitz district, right next to the Campus Dreispitz.
What to Expect From the Graduation Exhibition in Basel
Visitors stepping into the galleries will encounter a wide-ranging dialogue across various mediums, featuring contributions from artists such as Tim Kummer, Madeleine Noraas, Claudius Skorski, Charlotte Horn, Mykki Blanco, Jorge Morocho, Lena Laguna Diel, Alice Tioli, and Sophie Diggelmann. The featured pieces capture the pivotal transition artists experience as they move from the supportive environment of the academy into professional artistic practice.
Co-curated by Chus Martínez, head of the Institute Art Gender Nature, alongside guest curator and Kunsthaus Baselland director Ines Goldbach, the exhibition highlights the collaborative spirit connecting regional education and contemporary art institutions.
