Myths in Orbit: The Universe in View offers a compelling bridge between mythological heritage and modern astronomical observation. Comprising 10 key works from the museum's own collection, the exhibition prominently features restored Renaissance relief casts from the Sacra Capilla del Salvador in Úbeda. These works illustrate the intricate connections between natural elements and the deities that governed the ancient understanding of the planetary system. The exhibition is organized into two main thematic blocks: one focusing on the four elements of nature as interpreted through the lens of classical antiquity, and another exploring the relationship between Olympian gods and the planets. To enhance engagement for all ages, the museum has incorporated accessible features, including a touch-based table that allows visitors to explore the planets to scale. The show is the result of a collaborative effort involving the Basque Government, the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC), and the Cerralbo Museum, reflecting a broader institutional mission to recontextualize historic funds through interdisciplinary perspectives.
