Discover Daniel Tamayo's Works on Paper at the FIG Bilbao 2025 Art Exhibition

At the 14th edition of the International Fair of Engraving and Art on Paper (FIG Bilbao) in 2025, the Juan Manuel Lumbreras Gallery presented an exclusive selection of Daniel Tamayo's work. The showcase, titled 'Imaginarias / Iconominias', featured a diverse range of pieces, including original watercolors on Arches paper and unique digital prints on Hahnemühle paper, reflecting the artist's ongoing exploration of narrative landscapes and complex, often ironic, character-driven scenarios. Daniel Tamayo, born in Bilbao in 1951, is a renowned painter and professor at the University of the Basque Country. His artistic process is characterized by a deliberate use of abstraction, where geometric and organic forms merge to create multi-layered, imaginative worlds. This collection demonstrates his commitment to narrative-rich compositions that vividly document both real and imagined experiences through bold and delirious color palettes.

The presentation took place as part of the FIG Bilbao art fair, with the gallery located at stand 25.
