Fondation Brasilea Hosts Noite Cultural in Basel
Fondation Brasilea is preparing a vibrant multi-floor experience for visitors looking to explore contemporary Brazilian culture and photography along the Rhine. The cultural institution is activating its spaces across three levels, combining migration history, Amazonian photojournalism, interactive botanical installations, and live music.
What to Expect Across the Three Floors in Basel
Visitors stepping into the foundation's port-district venue will find a carefully curated lineup spread throughout the building. The ground floor centers on biographical and historical themes with the exhibition “Between two homelands,” which highlights the journey of founder Walter Wüthrich and explores broader narratives of migration, war, and the diplomatic ties between Switzerland and Brazil. Guided tours for this exhibition are scheduled in the evening.
Moving up to the first floor, guests can view “Dreaming the Forest,” a specialized photo exhibition featuring works of the Amazon by award-winning Brazilian photojournalist Victor Moriyama, presented in collaboration with Culturescapes Amazonas 2021.
Bridging the artistic floors, the venue transforms into a tropical lounge featuring an interactive installation titled “Plant Inception: Can Plants dream?” crafted by Lina Lopes and Anais-karenin.

As the evening progresses, the atmosphere shifts toward a lively celebration of Brazilian rhythms and gastronomy. A DJ performance by Lory Lou takes over the late-night hours, accompanied by traditional refreshments. Attendees can enjoy caipirinhas alongside authentic tapioca crêpes provided by Tapiocarhy.
