La Térmica is expanding its cultural horizons this season by hosting two distinct programming blocks dedicated to musical heritage: Cine + Rock & Roll and Del Jazz al Swing. Organized in collaboration with Ritmo y Blues Eventos, these multidisciplinary series bring together live music, documentary screenings, conferences, book presentations, and family-friendly workshops to highlight the history and impact of these influential genres.
What Visitors Can Expect from the Musical Series
Running across October and November, the cultural center's schedule blends visual arts with performance. Alongside the musical showcases, visitors exploring the building's lobby can view the photography exhibition Capturados en vivo by Álex R. Cruz. Running through November 30, the display features original framed imagery focusing primarily on blues and live music performance, emphasizing dynamic body language and raw expression.
The October lineup centers on rock history through cinematic screenings and live performances. Visitors can explore biographical documentaries—such as features on punk pioneer Joe Strummer and Spanish rock outfits—alongside live performances and vinyl DJ sets. As November arrives, the focus shifts toward rhythm and blues, featuring specialized dance workshops such as jive, swing, and lindy hop, complemented by live quartet performances and clandestine dance sessions.
Family Activities and Cultural Programming
The center has also designed a dedicated strand of theatrical performances and hands-on workshops tailored for younger audiences. Scheduled alongside the main events, families can experience stories centered on rural traditions, magical quests, and circus heritage, followed by creative sessions where participants craft miniature characters or seed bombs using recycled materials.
