Curatorial context

The fourth edition of the 'Space for Kids' exhibition format invites visitors to playfully discover new perspectives on their environment through various workshops based on artistic methods. In an era saturated with images of different environments, the exhibition prompts questions about where these images are stored, how they reach us, and their ecological footprint. Utilizing a setting that interweaves analog and digital media, the exhibition fosters a space for developing artistic and discursive visions for a more ecological future. This edition is a project by Kunsthalle Wien's art education team in collaboration with The Golden Pixel Cooperative, featuring contributions from Enar de Dios Rodríguez, Nathalie Koger, Simona Obholzer, Marlies Pöschl, Katharina Swoboda, and Lisa Truttmann, as well as Zheng Xiaoqiong. The Golden Pixel Cooperative is an association active in exhibition and cinema contexts, supporting anti-racist, queer-feminist, documentary, and essayistic works. 'Space for Kids Vol. IV' serves as a prologue to the subsequent exhibition 'The Art-Nature Lab or the Mushrooming Cabinet of Wonders,' which will delve into the ecology of cities.
