This exhibition showcases autumnal motifs through photography, exploring detailed reproductions of seasonal moods, abstract interpretations, and staged pictorial concepts. It features works by ten artists spanning a century of photographic history, from the interwar period to 2019.
The exhibition 'FAVORITE FALL' is dedicated to autumnal motifs, presenting a curated selection of photographic art that captures the essence of the season. Visitors can expect to see colourful deciduous forests, harvested fields, ripe sunflowers and apples, as well as scenes from coffee houses and individuals depicted in autumnal attire.
The display delves into central approaches within photographic art, highlighting detailed reproductions of specific elements like landscape and seasonal moods, alongside abstracting tendencies and alienation effects that encourage new interpretations. Furthermore, the exhibition explores staged pictorial concepts, where artworks are arranged as still lifes and models are presented as tableaux vivants. These enduring artistic concepts are illustrated through representative examples from ten photographers, whose works collectively span a century of photographic history, from the interwar period up to 2019. The featured artists include Alfons Walde, Andre Kertesz, Franz Hubmann, Mario Giacomelli, Padhi Frieberger, Cora Pongracz, Takeushi Toshinobu, David LaChapelle, Rita Nowak, and Anna Breit.
