Experience young Lipizzaner stallions during their summer development phase on the alpine pastures. These tours offer a unique opportunity to observe the foals in their natural environment, learn about their upbringing, and witness their agility and joy of movement.
During the summer months, young Lipizzaner stallions aged one to three years revel in the fresh alpine grasses and herbs of the Stubalm. This crucial developmental period allows them to gain experience in a natural environment, with the varied and uneven terrain promoting sure-footedness and strengthening their tendons and ligaments. These alpine pasture tours provide visitors with a close-up encounter with these "young wild ones," offering fascinating insights into life on the alpine pasture and the upbringing of these future stars of the Spanish Riding School. The experience takes place every Wednesday and Saturday in July and August, starting at 19:00. Participants are advised to arrange their own transportation to the Stubalm, as it is a 30-35 minute drive from the Piber Stud Farm. A 15-minute hike from the parking area leads to the stables. The tours are weather-dependent and note that dogs are not permitted on the alpine pasture experiences.
