The BioInspiration exhibition showcases the field of biomimicry, where nature's solutions are translated into technical innovations. With over 200 exhibits, media installations, and interactive stations, it explores applications from antiquity to present research across various fields.
Nature's inventiveness serves as a powerful source of inspiration for technological advancements, a concept explored in the BioInspiration exhibition. This science, known as biomimicry, translates natural structures and mechanisms into technical solutions, focusing on both functionality and sustainability. The exhibition highlights examples from antiquity to current research, demonstrating how nature's ingenuity, tested over millennia, informs innovations in architecture, medicine, transportation, engineering, robotics, energy, urban planning, materials science, sports, and space exploration.
As part of a European collaboration promoting international exchange and sustainable museum work, BioInspiration is a joint project between the Technisches Museum Wien, DASA Dortmund, and Parque de las Ciencias Granada. This exhibition represents a commitment to innovation and sustainability, with the display travelling between these institutions. The Technisches Museum Wien also hosts a partner exhibition on artificial intelligence as part of this collaboration.
