This exhibition explores the complex dynamics of the energy transition and climate crisis, presenting strategies, technologies, and solutions for a sustainable energy future. Visitors can learn about the impact of fossil fuels and discover innovative approaches to climate-neutral living.
Energy is fundamental to modern society, but the ongoing climate crisis necessitates a rapid shift towards sustainable energy solutions. This exhibition, developed in collaboration with the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK), delves into the multifaceted challenges and innovative approaches to satisfying global energy needs sustainably. Across five levels, visitors gain insights into the intertwined complexities of the energy transition and experience firsthand what a successful transition to a climate-neutral future might entail.
The exhibition guides visitors on a journey to understand the impact of reliance on oil, coal, and natural gas on the Earth's climate system and highlights the necessity of the energy transition for planetary habitability. It addresses critical questions regarding increasing energy demands, the efficiency of industrial production, personal consumption optimization, the generation of climate-neutral electricity, and the role of infrastructure and technologies like hydrogen in phasing out fossil fuels. An interactive simulator allows visitors to experiment with different energy mixes and observe their effects on the climate, concluding with 'good news from the future' that presents a motivational vision of a sustainable world built from the climate crisis.
