This exhibition delves into the evolving landscape of work and production, examining digitalization, automation, and future materials. It explores historical contexts alongside contemporary researchers and experts addressing future challenges and themes. The exhibition is presented across three distinct levels: 'In Production,' 'At Work,' and the interactive 'techLAB.'
The 'Work and Production' exhibition examines the daily realities of work and consumption, tracing production processes from the present into the future and reflecting on their historical roots. It tackles key themes such as digitalization and automation, questioning the roles of human workers versus computer-controlled processes, the significance of interfaces, the design of algorithms, the concept of digital twins, and the meaning of 'zero fault.'
The exhibition is structured into three distinct levels. The 'In Production' section, housed in a separate high-rise structure, guides visitors through a product's journey, from order placement to navigating the challenges of a smart production line, exploring the roles of robots as co-workers and the question of who shapes the future of work. The 'At Work' section delves into the historical aspects of work and production, examining the evolution of professions, the impact of industrial revolutions, and how technologies influence production, linking past and present senses with industrial monitoring. Complementing these is the interactive '[techLAB](https://www.technischesmuseum.at/ausstellung/techlab)', which offers hands-on experiences with 3D printing, laser cutting, and programming, encouraging visitors to develop the skills needed for future work environments.
