Sala BBK and Klima Abentura Launch a New Season of Art and Climate Science in Urdaibai
The Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve has officially opened its latest seasonal program for Klima Abentura, blending environmental education with artistic installations, outdoor recreation, and community engagement. Presented by the leadership team from BBK, the initiative continues to expand how visitors interact with sustainability through hands-on learning and cultural experiences.
Immersive Sustainability and Art in Nature
This season introduces several additions designed to make ecological concepts more tangible for visitors of all ages. A newly integrated environmental footprint scanner allows guests to measure their personal impact and generate a customized park itinerary focused on key themes like energy, water, and food consumption.
Visitors can also follow a narrative experience centered around the "Diwos" and their story, The Invisible Threat, which highlights the connection between daily human choices and planetary health. Art plays an equally central role this season with the inclusion of Natura Fugit, an exhibition by artist Jesús Mari Lazkano that offers a reflective look at landscape and climate change.
Culture, Outdoor Events, and Family Activities
Alongside educational installations, the program features an expanded lineup of summer events, live performances, and local gastronomy. The upcoming schedule includes open-air screenings and acoustic performances by artists such as Maren, Montana, and Addar as part of the Klima Zuzenean sessions.
Visitors can also participate in seasonal culinary workshops and food-focused days highlighting regional produce. Additionally, the park's natural swimming pools are set to reopen in August, providing a dedicated space for relaxation within the reserve.
