To plan your visit to Petřín Lookout Tower, note that visitors under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. The funicular railway to Petřín is currently out of service, so plan to use public transport or walk. An early bird discount of 50% on admission is available during the first hour after opening.

Visitors under 15 may enter the monument only when accompanied by an adult (18+). The funicular railway to Petřín is out of service from Friday 13th September 2024 until further notice.

Visit highlights

The tower is partially accessible. Wheelchair access by elevator is only up to the 20m platform, as the 51m platform lacks wheelchair manoeuvring space. Due to the narrow elevator door, a mechanical wheelchair is available for visitors with an electric wheelchair. To use the partially accessible toilet, you have to go around the entire building and use the service entrance, but a fully accessible public toilet is located near the tower. You can get a discount of CZK 50 on the historical tram line 42 ticket when you present your ticket from one of the towers managed by Prague City Tourism a.s. (valid only on the day of your visit). Conversely, you can get a 50% discount on entry to one of these towers on the day of your ride when you present your historical tram line 42 ticket (does not apply to 9 Prague Sights in 365 Days Ticket).

How to reach Petřín Lookout Tower on foot in Prague

Options for getting to the top of Petřín Hill include walking from the Pohořelec stop (tram No 22) along Strahovská or Úvoz (a gentle incline), or from the Koleje Strahov or Stadion Strahov stop through the campus and Rose Gardens (an easy walk). From the Malostranské náměstí stop (trams No 12, 20 and 22), you can walk along Tržiště and Vlašská (a steep incline, the path is not maintained in winter). From the Újezd stop (trams No 9, 12, 20 and 22), walk up Seminářská zahrada (a steep incline, the path is not maintained in winter). Extra caution is advised when walking in winter.
