The outdoor area of the National Cultural Monument Vyšehrad is open to the public all year round. Admission depends on the type of tour and tour route. For groups of 10 or more paying visitors, pre-booked guided tours are available only by prior arrangement. The Gothic Cellar exhibition is currently closed due to ongoing work for a new permanent exhibition planned to open in June 2026.

Visit highlights

The Vyšehrad complex is largely wheelchair accessible, though due to its historical character, some buildings and tour routes are not. For the auditorium, it is recommended to book spaces for wheelchair users in advance. Barrier-free toilets are available at the Old Burgrave’s House (key from the ticket office), the Information Centre, and a public barrier-free toilet in V pevnosti ulice. The Information Centre, which is fully barrier-free, is located in front of the Leopold Gate and also offers new public toilets for a fee.

You can reach Vyšehrad via tram by getting off at the Výtoň stop and taking Libušina and Na Libušince streets up the stairs, or via the Albertov stop and going uphill on Vratislavova Street. The metro stop Vyšehrad is also a short walk away.
