Exhibition summary

This exhibition explores the concept of dialogue, both personal and artistic, through the works of Vladimír Komárek and Lucie Gelemová. It examines how art captures the essence of life and enduring human existence across generations.

Curatorial context

The exhibition 'Dialogue of Introduction' is inspired by the idea that every person engages in a dialogue with their surroundings from birth. Artists, in particular, capture this process, giving it form that endures through art, architecture, and faith. The exhibition features the works of Master Vladimír Komárek, known for his poignant depictions of everyday objects like empty chairs and open windows, which he imbued with profound meaning. His art captures the essence of simple things for all generations. Complementing Komárek's work is that of graphic artist and painter Lucie Gelemová. Her art invites living people to engage with Komárek's world, suggesting continuity and the continuation of life's dialogue. The exhibition highlights the intersection of Komárek's experience and Gelemová's search for meaning, creating a unified whole that affirms the indestructibility of human existence. It poses questions about how we live our lives and defend their rebirth, reflecting on the lessons from art for today's world.
