Plan to spend at least 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the tour of the DomQuartier. Note that the last admission is one hour before closing time, and access to all museum areas cannot be guaranteed during the last 20 minutes of operation.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or on-site at the main ticket office in the passageway from Residenzplatz 1 leading into the inner courtyard. Large bags, luggage, umbrellas, and wet clothing are not permitted in the exhibition rooms and must be stored in the lockable lockers located on the second and third floors.

Visit highlights

Private photography and filming are permitted without a flash or tripod, except in the St. Peter area and on specifically marked objects. Dogs are not allowed in the museum, with the exception of assistance dogs. Ramps and lifts are available for visitors with impaired mobility at Residenzplatz 1 (stairway 4) and the south tower entrance to the Cathedral Museum.
