Exploring Contemporary Movement at SZENE Salzburg with Babsi Földesi
Visitors and local movement practitioners have a unique opportunity to engage with contemporary performance research this season as SZENE Studio hosts Circus Tanz Labor. Salzburg-based choreographer and dancer Babsi Földesi is presenting her ongoing exploration into the physical intersections of Wing Tsun, dance, and contemporary circus.
What to Expect at the Local Lab
This engagement serves as both a practical movement research session and a pedagogical trial. Over the years, Földesi’s artistic practice has evolved through the study of martial arts principles, balance disciplines, and somatic investigation. Rather than teaching these distinct disciplines in isolation, the sessions focus on the shared physical mechanics that connect them.
Participants can expect to examine how these underlying principles are translated into movement through verbal guidance, structured physical tasks, and targeted exercises. The sessions run from July 20 to July 24, 2026, taking place daily between 10:00 and 12:00 at the SZENE Studio located on the third floor of Anton-Neumayr-Platz 2.
