"Land for Us All": An Exhibition by Architekturzentrum Wien Exploring Land Policy

This touring exhibition explores the critical issue of land policy and its profound impact on communities, housing, and the environment. It aims to raise awareness about land as a precious resource and presents alternatives to current practices.

The exhibition 'Land for Us All' by the Architekturzentrum Wien highlights the growing challenges posed by land policy, including soil sealing, rising housing prices, and the displacement of urban manufacturing. It emphasizes that land is a finite and precious resource, directly affecting the shape and function of our towns and villages. The exhibition delves into the complex interplay of political, legal, and economic factors that determine land use. It questions how grassland becomes building land and why land prices continue to rise, connecting these issues to people's lives and aspirations. Through comparisons between different countries and examples of international best practices, 'Land for Us All' showcases viable alternatives and introduces new tools for spatial planning that promote resource conservation, climate change mitigation, housing solutions, and good architecture. The exhibition serves as a call to action, encouraging new ways of thinking and acting regarding land management.
