The Augarten Wien Porzellanmanufaktur stands as the second oldest porcelain manufactory in Europe, tracing its origins back to 1718. Reopened in 1923 as "Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten" after the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, it continues to be celebrated internationally for its exquisite porcelain. Named after the Augarten, a baroque park that houses the manufactory and the adjacent Porcelain Museum, it is a significant cultural site. Augarten porcelain is comparable in art historical significance to that of German manufactories like Meissen and Nymphenburg. The manufactory produces a wide range of items by hand, including vases, dinner, tea, and coffee services, figurines, and lamps. Designs have been created in collaboration with notable artists since the manufactory's inception, resulting in over 25,000 products spanning from Baroque to modern styles. Famous decors include the "Wiener Rose" from the Biedermeier period and Josef Hoffmann's world-renowned Melon service from 1929.
