The 'Lavendeltage' (Lavender Days) at the Hirschstetten Gardens invite visitors to experience the beauty and fragrance of lavender. The event features expert advice, hands-on activities for children, and a variety of lavender products.
The Wiener Stadtgärten (Horticulture Department Vienna) is hosting "Lavendeltage" (Lavender Days) at the Blumengärten Hirschstetten from Saturday, June 13 to Sunday, June 14, 2026. This event celebrates the fragrant lavender bloom, offering visitors expert advice from horticultural specialists, engaging activities for children, and a wide selection of lavender-themed products.
Children can participate as "little city gardeners" by planting lavender cuttings and testing their memory with a terracotta pot game. Adults can receive valuable tips from the Wiener Stadtgärten experts on lavender care, suitable varieties, diverse uses, and recommendations for gardens or balconies. Guided tours focusing on lavender are also available. Numerous exhibitors will be present, including daily demonstrations of lavender oil "show distillation" at 3 PM, and a lavender blossom barefoot path. Visitors can purchase various lavender products such as oil, tea, syrup, soaps, sprays, and scented pillows.
The Blumengärten Hirschstetten itself is a popular destination, featuring themed gardens like the Indian, Mexican, and TCM gardens, as well as a zoo with over 70 animal species and playgrounds for children.
