Michael John Ashcroft Selected for Royal Academy Summer Exhibition via York Fine Arts
Independent family-run gallery York Fine Arts has shared its congratulations following the selection of contemporary artist Michael John Ashcroft, ROI for the Royal Academy’s annual Summer Exhibition. His painting, titled ‘On Time, Oxford Road Station, Manchester’, has been chosen for inclusion in the long-running open submission showcase.
Celebrating Contemporary British Art at Burlington House
Established in 1769, the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition is widely recognized as the world's largest open submission art show, celebrating creativity across various mediums. For its 2023 installment, the exhibition features over 1,600 works selected by co-ordinator and British painter David Remfry RA, who organized this year's collection around the overarching theme "Only Connect"—a nod to the famous passage from E.M. Forster's Howards End.
