Planning Your Visit to York Theatre Royal

York railway station is a ten-minute walk from the theatre. To walk from the station, turn left upon exiting, pass the Principal Hotel, continue straight over the crossroads, head under the city walls, cross Lendal Bridge, and turn left at the next crossroads. Alternatively, multiple local buses stop directly outside at the Theatre Royal stop, including routes 1, 2, 5, 5A, 6, 19, 29, 30, 31, 31X, 40, 56, 58, 812, and 884.

The theatre is accessible by car from major nearby cities, situated approximately 40 minutes from Harrogate, 45 minutes from Leeds, and 1 hour from Hull. While there is no on-site parking, nearby public car parks include Bootham Row, Marygate, and Union Terrace. Using York's Park and Ride scheme is also recommended.

Bicycle parking bays are located nearby on Duncombe Place.
