The Yorkshire Museum of Farming at Murton Park is open year-round from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, with last admission at 3:30 pm. Visitors should note that access to the living history sites may be limited or unavailable during school term times.

Purchase admission and optional train ride tickets at the front desk in the reception building on arrival. Standard admission prices include unlimited return visits for twelve months. Visitors will receive a map and information sheet upon arrival at the admissions desk.

Visit highlights

The park covers approximately 14 acres of mostly flat terrain, though some tracks have loose gravel surfaces and certain outdoor areas can become slippery or inaccessible in bad weather. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome on the outdoor site but are not permitted inside any buildings. Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire park. Explorer Backpacks can be borrowed to support visitors with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Alternatively, take the First York No. 10 bus from York railway station to Grimston Court, and walk five to ten minutes via Bore Tree Baulk and Murton Lane. Please be aware that these walking routes include roads with no pavements.
