Bath Laboratory of Culture brings live music, theatre, exhibitions, talks, workshops and creative organisations together in the vaulted Burdall’s Yard venue. Its programme supports artists, experimentation and affordable community participation.
A community-led Bath venue for live music, theatre, exhibitions, talks, workshops and creative projects.

BLOC at Burdall's Yard serves as a vibrant independent hub for creative expression in the Walcot area of Bath. Located within atmospheric former brewery vaults, this community-interest venue hosts a diverse range of live music, theatre, exhibitions, and interactive workshops. The space functions as a platform for both established performances and experimental projects, prioritizing affordable community participation. Visitors encounter a unique setting where historic stone architecture meets contemporary creative programming. By supporting local artists and creative businesses, the venue fosters an environment centered on collaboration, discovery, and artistic development.

Burdall's Yard originally developed as a community arts centre under the management of the Next Stage Theatre Company, which hosted diverse performances and events within its distinctive vaults. In the summer of 2026, the venue entered a new era when the Bath Laboratory of Culture, known as BLOC, assumed responsibility for the site's programme and development. This transition helped solidify the space as an *independent cultural hub* serving the local community through creative work.
