It delves into Czech visual culture from 1985 to 1995, placing the critical events of 1989 within a broader temporal, political, and media context, spanning from the beginnings of "perestroika" to the establishment of a new "democratic" political and media landscape. The exhibition is underpinned by the theory that the collapse of communism was not an isolated event but a process with extensive causes and consequences, significantly impacting the transformation of visual media and their societal roles. The presentation features photography alongside related media such as graphic design, video, cartoons, film, and television, focusing on the interconnected political and media shifts within Czech society during this transformative decade. Curated by Pavel Vančát, with exhibition design by Oldřich Morys and graphic design by Zuzana Lednická, the exhibition draws on the expertise of consultants Zuzana Krišková and Jan Kuntoš.
