This exhibition is dedicated to Jan Posselt, a photographer whose Smíchov studio was an early adopter of artificial lighting. His diverse pursuits included portraiture, documentary photography, advertising, and reproduction photography, notably producing the authoritative book 'The Royal Capital Prague' in 1912. Posselt actively participated in exhibitions and competitions, employing techniques such as the bromoil print process and modern bromide silver papers for his documentary and advertising work. He was also among the first to utilize natural colour techniques. His importance, recognized by Antonín Dufek as 'an extraordinarily progressive professional of the earlier generation,' is finally showcased in this first solo exhibition, serving as a significant acknowledgment of his oeuvre. The exhibition is curated by Jan Mlčoch, with assistance from Jitka Štětková and graphic design by Štěpán Malovec. It is presented at the Josef Sudek Gallery, located at Úvoz 24, Praha 1–Hradčany.
