The exhibition project Morface, by the Glass Studio of Tomáš Bat’a University in Zlín, presents a site-specific installation by the youngest generation of glass artists. The contemporary view of figuration is explored in its broader context, with simple utilitarian shapes decorated with compositions based on faithful body imprints of individuals. This creates a strong generational statement that reflects on transformation or metamorphosis, confronting the public with bodily and even erotic motifs. The work crosses the boundaries of classical glass painting by applying industrially produced decals for consumer goods, connecting this creative process with consumer culture through cooperation with GDS Technology, a producer of decal paints for drinking glass. The arrangement of these decals into various rotating shapes signifies inner restlessness and tension characteristic of youth, while floral stylizations suggest an optical connection with the museum's exhibition spaces, making them part of the artwork.
The exhibition features contributions from Magdalena Beňová, Jana Ermisová, Christopher Robin Hewitt, Matija Jankovič, Michaela Kubešová, Josefína Kuthanová, Marie Lichá, Karolína Manová, Petr Mana, and Zuzana Roškotová.
