In 2016, artist Eva Koťátková led a workshop with seven artists from the KAT18 project—Nicole Baginski, Tanja Geiss, Patrick Henkel, Susanne Kümpel, Andreas Maus, Michael Müller, and Anna Rossa. Together, they formed an 'Office for the eyes, nose, mask, tongue, heart, hand and mouth,' a temporary organism and machinery dedicated to creating a series of works including drawings, objects, costumes, texts, and performances. Each artist focused on a specific body part, exploring its new functions and alternative communication methods. Over-proportioned eyes displayed emotions, noses became tools of communication, arms detached from the body to form new figures, hearts revealed wounds, and masks became new faces. The project generated new rules, standards, and scenarios based on the needs of these re-imagined body parts. The Office was first presented at the Kolumba Museum in Cologne. At Museum Kampa, Dominik Lang, who co-led the workshop with Eva Koťátková in 2018, became an architect of the exhibition alongside her. Robert Kunstmann contributed seven video clips, serving as portraits of the artists and their unique artworks. The exhibition was developed in close cooperation with Jutta Pöstges, leader of the KAT18 atelier, which supports artistic work for creators with disabilities, aiming to challenge the rhetoric and social stigmatization surrounding these terms.
