This permanent exhibition, created in cooperation with Czech Television, showcases operating TV equipment, technology, and furniture used from 1997 to 2011. Visitors can experience roles like newsreader, meteorologist, cameraman, or director within a recreated studio environment.
The National Technical Museum presents a permanent exhibition titled 'Television Studio', a collaborative project with Czech Television. This exhibition offers an immersive experience by showcasing authentic broadcasting equipment, technology holders, and furniture that were actively used in the SK8 studio complex at Kavčí hory between 1997 and 2011 for daily broadcasts, including news and sports programs.
Visitors are guided through the workings of a television studio, with opportunities to step into the roles of newsreaders, meteorologists, cameramen, or directors. While some visitors can actively participate, others can observe from an audience space or through a glass wall from the adjacent corridor, which features text panels and an interactive kiosk. The exhibition features hands-on interaction with equipment such as Sony BVP 500P cameras on studio tripods, a Sony DME 7000 image processor, and a Sony MXP 29 audio mixer. A Sony BVE 600 editing unit, Sony PVW-2800P Betacam SP editing recorders/players, an ASTON MOTIF XP captioning character generator, and a significant Sony BVC-10P Betacart—a specialized processor used for managing visual contributions to news reports—are also on display.
