Gerðarsafn Art Museum Invites Young Artists and Academics for European Collaboration
Gerðarsafn Art Museum has announced an open call for artists and academics under the age of 36 to participate in a European collaborative initiative focusing on art, nature, and sustainability. The project aims to establish a dedicated platform for young creative practitioners and researchers to exchange ideas and develop collaborative concepts.
International Collaboration Focused on Art, Nature, and Sustainability
The initiative is led by Sculpture Line in the Czech Republic, an established art festival known for featuring outdoor artworks across Europe. Alongside Gerðarsafn, participating institutions include The Natural History Museum of Kópavogur, AreaCreative42 in Venice, and the Jan Komiarek Gallery in Slovakia.
From the applicant pool, eight individuals will be chosen to travel to Prague for an upcoming hackathon. During this session, participants will focus on designing temporary outdoor works and site-specific interventions intended for locations in Kópavogur, Venice, and Ústí nad Orlicí in the Czech Republic. Following the hackathon, three distinct teams will be selected to bring the outdoor works to life.
