Discovering Enchantment and Shared Dialogue in Contemporary Art
The works gathered for this presentation stem from a collective exploration of everyday magic and quiet tenderness, seeking a sense of wonder in times that can often feel demanding and rigid. Rather than treating emotional states as rigid opposites, the featured pieces allow pain and growth, sorrow and joy, and trauma and healing to exist as parallel elements. Guided by concepts of inner alchemy, motherhood, and collaborative dialogue, the project encourages visitors to reflect on connections with one another and the wider world.
Curated by Þórhildur Tinna Sigurðardóttir, the exhibition features a diverse roster of international and Icelandic contributors, including Kristín Morthens, Björg Þorsteinsdóttir, Sigríður Björnsdóttir, Suzanne Treister, Tabita Rezaire, Kate McMillan, Hildur Hákonardóttir, Ra Tack, Tinna Guðmundsdóttir, Elsa Jónsdóttir, Juliana Irene Smith, Kata Jóhanness, Patty Spyrakos, and Edda Karólína. A comprehensive catalog accompanies the showcase, featuring texts by the curator, illustrations by Edda Karólína, and an essay by Hildur Hákonardóttir.
