Salzburger Kunstverein Presents Line as Thought, Lines as Universe Drawing Exhibition

Line as Thought, Lines as Universe examines the evolving nature of contemporary drawing by placing it in dialogue with abstract drawing pioneers of the past several decades. The exhibition was deeply inspired by the final body of work created by Romanian artist Alina Popa before her passing in 2019, which serves as a poignant, visceral exploration of her own experiences. By showcasing these works alongside a diverse range of artists, the exhibition investigates how drawing functions as a unique medium for rendering the intangible, the inexpressible, and the unknown. Beyond mere representation, the featured works explore the potential for drawing to circumnavigate complex ideas and challenge the constraints of language and thought.
