The exhibition presents the 3D virtual reality film 'The Invisible Hand', an immersive 13-minute work directed by Omer Fast. The narrative centers on a young girl recounting her family's past in China, triggered by the father's discovery of a finger poking out of the forest floor, which he adorned with a ring. This act leads to a series of recurring magical financial windfalls that bring prosperity to the family, eventually culminating in a mysterious guest attending the son's wedding. Commissioned originally by the Guangdong Times Museum in 2018, the film offers a critical perspective on historical and social narratives, underscored by the fact that the work faced censorship shortly after its debut due to its thematic engagement with the supernatural. This installation at the Salzburger Kunstverein continues the institution's long-standing collaboration with Fast, whose work often blurs the lines between reality, storytelling, and cultural memory.
