Vienna's first city farm offers an up-close experience with farm animals and nature. Visitors can explore organic animal husbandry, learn about agriculture through stall tours, and engage with nature via an interactive trail.
The Children's farm on the Cobenzl is Vienna's first city farm, providing an immersive experience with farm animals and the natural environment. It features domestic farm animals such as alpacas, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, and geese, each housed in dedicated stalls with access to courtyards and fields. The farm emphasizes organic animal husbandry, offering visitors insights into the workings of an organic farm through informative stall tours. These tours provide engaging details about animals, agriculture, and nature, as well as an understanding of food production. Complementing the animal encounters, a nature trail enhances the visitor experience from spring to autumn. This trail is designed for all senses, featuring aroma stations, meadows with fruit trees, herb gardens, berry bushes, anthills, and compost heaps, encouraging playful discovery. A visible beehive is also part of the educational offering.
