Schönbrunn Palace opens its doors to younger visitors through the Kindermuseum, offering an engaging glimpse into the 18th-century court life. Inspired by the 16 children of Empress Maria Theresa, this museum invites children and adults alike to step back in time. Across twelve rooms located in the west wing of the former imperial residence, visitors can admire walls painted with fantastical landscapes, learn the art of coquetry through fan language, and gain insights into the grooming and makeup practices of the court. The experience is enhanced by opportunities to try on authentic baroque dresses and wigs. The exhibition delves into the education of the nobility and explores the favorite games of the royal children. Additionally, a dance instructor hosts Quadrille dancing sessions on the third Sunday of each month, and one-hour children's tours are available on weekends, holidays, and during school breaks, offering a unique, hands-on educational adventure.
