Curatorial context

The exhibition 'Axila, que robo sobaco' by Maider Aldasoro is an introspective project that explores the boundaries between the real and the imagined. Through her multidisciplinary practice, Aldasoro develops an alter ego that serves as a provocative entity, inviting the audience to reflect on desire, challenge, and the act of looking. The work is presented in three phases—offering, theft, and declaration—each designed to confront the viewer with an encapsulated, intimate world. By blending elements of sculpture, costume design, and video-performance, the artist creates a turbulent space where traditional boundaries are questioned. The exhibition reflects the artist's ongoing research into identity and the body, utilizing tactile materials and performance-based narratives to ground her concepts in a physical space. The resulting installation invites a personal and attentive reading, encouraging visitors to step into a dialogue with the work and the artist's provocative creative vision.

Admission and ticket notes

Admission to the exhibition is free. The space is open to the public from Monday to Friday, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays during specified hours; no advanced booking is required for general visitation.
