Curatorial context
Nomadic Practices 2023-25 presents a set of works developed through an international mobility programme in collaboration with BilbaoArte, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Kunsthaus Bregenz, and JAD Le Jardin des métiers d’Art et du Design. The exhibition explores the practical and active nature of the artists' research as they moved between different cultural contexts, interweaving ideas and inspirations from the Basque Country, France, Austria, and Italy.
The featured artists—Juana García-Pozuelo, Harald Gmeiner, Helena Guy Lhomme, Victor Ortuño, Caterina Morigi, Javier R. Peréz-Curiel, Saray Pérez Castilla, and Matteo Vettorello—utilize varied media such as sculpture, video, sound installation, and painting to address complex themes. Their works range from investigations into suburban aesthetics and the human relationship with urban environments to ecological reflections and the balance of biometric relationships between individuals.
