How to Visit the Academic Museum of Coimbra

Museu Machado de Castro is about 120 m away; use buses 34 and 28. Manutenção is about 140 m away; use buses 33, 27F, 16G, 16, 16F, 36F, 33R and 7T. Coimbra-B railway station is approximately 2.2 km away in a straight line; use the live SMTUC and Metrobus network planner for the station connection and current platform direction.

If the named nearby car park is full, use a signed municipal facility around Parque Verde do Mondego, the lower city or Praça da República, then continue on foot or by bus. The Alta has steep, narrow and access-controlled streets, so verify the final approach before driving uphill.

The nearest mapped cycle parking is about 120 m away at Rua dos Estudos (4 spaces); use a proper lock and do not assume the stand is monitored. Coimbra's riverside cycle corridors are the easiest approach; routes into the Alta are steep, and shared bicycles or scooters must be left only at an authorised parking point.

Navigate to Largo Marquês de Pombal, 3000-272, Coimbra. From Museu Machado de Castro, allow for an approximately 120 m final walk and follow signs to the public visitor entrance. The approach into Coimbra's Alta can be steep and cobbled; visitors who need a gentler route should use public transport as high as practical.
