Designed to spark curiosity about local heritage, this session takes place in the museum's specialized learning environment, the Archaeodrome. During the activity, the venue features realistic recreations of two distinct historical environments: a prehistoric settlement and a traditional Roman villa.
Children and their accompanying adults will work side-by-side using replicas of ancient buildings and artifacts. Guided by expert instructors, participants get to dig, examine, and document findings just like a professional archaeological team. Because the experience involves actual excavation in natural soil directly on the ground, families should wear clothing suitable for a messy but rewarding day of exploration.
