Women Goddesses Exhibition: Ricard Terré Photography at MUCAC La Coracha, Málaga

The exhibition 'Women Goddesses in the Work of Ricard Terré' at MUCAC La Coracha offers an immersive look into the work of one of the key figures of Spanish photographic modernity. By curating a selection of over fifty black-and-white photographs, the exhibition moves beyond mere idealization to present the women in Terré's images as intense, dignified, and authentic human presences. This monographic presentation is the first of its kind in Málaga, developed through a collaborative effort between curator Laura Terré and project director Salvador Nadales. Terré, a prominent member of the Afal group and a contributor to the neorealist tradition, is celebrated for his unique ability to construct mysterious and tension-filled atmospheres using dense blacks and dramatic light. The exhibition is organized transversally around the female figure, which serves as a vital thread throughout his career. By grouping these photographs thematically and chronologically, the show invites visitors to discover the poetically intimate and philosophical dimensions of his legacy, reflecting his enduring inquiry into the nature of life, death, and human existence.
