European Painting from the 15th to 18th Century: A Prague Castle Exhibition of Old Masters

This exhibition showcases a curated selection of over one hundred European paintings from the 15th to the 18th centuries, drawn from the Prague Castle collections. It features works by renowned masters from the Italian, German, Dutch, and Flemish schools, including significant pieces from the 17th century and contributions from Czech Baroque painters.

The exhibition presents a significant representative selection of over one hundred of the finest European paintings from the Prague Castle collections, spanning the 15th to the 18th centuries. While only a few works from Emperor Rudolf II's famed gallery survive, the collection notably includes important pieces from the 17th century by Italian, German, Dutch, and Flemish masters. A substantial part of the collection comprises paintings by Czech Baroque artists, acquired in the 1930s through the Masaryk Fund. Visitors can view selected works by court artists, masters of the German and Dutch Renaissance, Italian Renaissance and Mannerist artists, and Central European and Dutch Baroque painters such as Titian, Tintoretto, Rubens, Hans van Aachen, Spranger, and Cranach. The display also touches upon Czech art from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, with works by Petr Brandl, Jan Kupetzky, Josef Mánes, Mikuláš Aleš, Vojtěch Hynais, Antonín Chitussi, and Antonín Slavíček.

Standard admission is CZK 300, reduced is CZK 200, and a family ticket is CZK 700.
