This exhibition showcases the work of contemporary photographer Juergen Teller, known for blurring the lines between art and commercial photography. It features a range of his series, from iconic celebrity portraits and fashion campaigns to more personal and autobiographical images.
Considered one of the world's most sought-after contemporary photographers, Juergen Teller has successfully straddled the interface of both art and commercial photography. He first gained prominence twenty-five years ago with his iconic photographs of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. Teller's work is characterized by its ability to eliminate distinctions between commissioned work, such as fashion campaigns and celebrity portraits, and his personal projects, which include everyday scenes, landscapes, and images of his family.
'Enjoy Your Life!' is a unique author project featuring older series like Nürnberg (2005), recent works such as Kanye, Juergen and Kim (2015), and Charlotte Rampling, a Fox and a Plate (2016). The exhibition also includes autobiographical and anecdotal images from The Clinic (2015), subjective documentations of his youth and German origins like Irene im Wald (2012), and the latest series, Mit dem Teller nach Bonn and Plates/Teller (2016), which appear to concentrate his earlier themes. The exhibition was a co-production with Bundeskunsthalle Bonn and Martin Gropius Bau in Berlin.
