The Living Art Museum Announces Cross-Residency Open Call in France for Artists in Iceland
The Living Art Museum has launched an open call for a six-week cross-residency program in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Open to artists of all nationalities and ages currently living in Iceland, the opportunity is designed to support deep research, experimentation, and international professional exchange rather than the creation of a finished final product.
What the Clermont-Ferrand Residency Offers
The selected artist will spend six weeks immersed in the contemporary art community at Artistes en résidence. The program covers travel expenses between Reykjavik and Clermont-Ferrand and includes a living stipend of €2250.
Resident creators are provided with a private bedroom inside a fully equipped shared apartment, alongside access to a 160-square-meter studio located in the multidisciplinary complex La Diode. Facilities include shared technical equipment such as a wood workshop, ceramic kiln, MIG welding station, and computer resources. Throughout the term, the host team offers professional mentorship and facilitates connections with local researchers, artisans, and cultural professionals.
Application Details and Deadlines
Applicants must submit a completed application form, a PDF portfolio containing an artist statement, a CV, and selected works, alongside an English-language letter of intent of up to two A4 pages. Portfolios may be submitted in English, French, or Icelandic.
Submissions are due by 10 August 2025 at 11:59 pm Icelandic time, with final results announced at the end of September 2025. The residency period is scheduled to run from 19 January to 2 March 2026.
