The Living Art Museum Announces Extended Deadline for French Artist Residency in Clermont-Ferrand
The Living Art Museum has shared an update regarding an open call for an upcoming cross-residency program in France. Artists based in Iceland now have additional time to submit their applications for the six-week opportunity at Artistes en résidence in Clermont-Ferrand.
Cross-Residency Opportunities for Artists in Iceland
Developed as a collaborative exchange between The Living Art Museum in Reykjavík and Artistes en résidence in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the program focuses on research and experimentation. Selected participants are not required to finalize a commercial production, making the residency an ideal environment for open-ended creative inquiry and professional growth.
The upcoming residency window is scheduled from January 19 to March 2, 2026. The selected artist will receive a financial stipend of €2250, covered travel expenses between Reykjavík and Clermont-Ferrand, and professional mentorship from the host team. Accommodation consists of a private bedroom in a shared, fully equipped apartment, alongside access to a 160-square-meter communal studio space equipped with various technical facilities.
Application Details and Requirements
The updated deadline for submissions is August 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM Icelandic time. Interested applicants of any nationality currently living in Iceland can complete their submissions through the Artistes en Résidence application portal.
Applicants are required to provide a completed form, a PDF portfolio including an artist statement, CV, and recent works, as well as a letter of intent written in English. Portfolios may be submitted in English, Icelandic, or French. Selection results will be announced at the end of September 2025.
