Salurinn Concert Hall has launched an open call for musical composition ideas as part of its upcoming 25th-anniversary celebrations. The initiative invites creators to submit proposals for new pieces written specifically for a children’s choir, with premiere performances scheduled for the autumn of 2024.

Marking a quarter-century of cultural events, the venue’s anniversary composition project centers on themes of milestones and celebration. Beyond these broad thematic guidelines, participating composers are given complete artistic freedom in shaping their works.
The call is open to applicants of all genders and ages who possess prior experience in musical composition that can be directly applied to creating the choral piece. A dedicated selection committee will evaluate all submissions, with final decisions communicated to applicants. Compensation for the chosen compositions will follow the official tariff guidelines established by the Association of Icelandic Composers.
